From: My grandmother

Notes: My grandmother always collected bird figurines and she used to have glass-fronted cabinets full of them gathering dust.  As she got older and more senile we moved her out of her condo and into assisted living.  Every time she was moved she lost a few more of these birds--due to her having less and less space--but when she finally passed on March 4th this year she still had some left.

My mom put the remaining birds out at the funeral on the 19th and insisted everyone take one. I snagged this one, hoping it was soap stone, but it seems to just be resin made to look like soapstone.  And I realize that sounds a bit heartless of me, but my grandmother wasn't the nicest of people, and she lived long past any tender feelings we had for her.  I've made my peace with that.

And gained an adorable duck figurine.
