Notes: These two were not gifts, but rather were lost-and-found objects left after the kids were gone. One I found under a mattress in the dorms, the other I think I got right from the lost-and-found bin. No one ever tried to get them back, so.

Notes: I had 19 bandanas last spring. I can only find about 15 of them these days, so I'm letting this bandana represent the missing ones. Sadly, aside from the two red ones, I can't even recall which others I had. sniffle.

Notes: Bandanas are expensive in stores, but even in thrift stores they cost more than I personally want to pay for something that I'm going to drag through the woods, use to wipe up dry-erase marker ink, lend to children, and any thing else I end up doing with them.  I got this one, and a missing red one, from a garage sale for a quarter each (or something else similarly cheap). It's a bit smaller than my others, and I think it was actually batiked by someone at some point, maybe even died with actual indigo.

I'm rather upset that the red one has run off, since it had an older pattern and was thus cooler.  It was still giant paisleys, don't get me wrong, it was just slightly different from all the millions of other bandanas in the world today.

I actually had two red ones, and I think Mom borrowed them and failed to return them.  On one hand I'd like them back (they are mine, rawr), but on the other hand it's not like I use them these days.

Notes: The first NC site that I worked at would hike Mount Monadnock every week (ideally; it wasn't really every week), and so I've been up and down this mountain a whole lot.  It's the second most summited mountain in the world (after Mt. Fuji--way after Mt. Fuji), and I know a whole bunch of useless facts about it now, thanks to hiking it so often.  It's a nice mountain, though.

And the bandana is a dark purple, which my camera refused to picture properly, while the text is white, not pinkish like it turned after I was done trying to make the purple purple with photo-editing software.

I always needed more bandanas, although I tried to prevent myself from buy tons of them because they are too expensive in stores. Sometimes I couldn't help myself, though

Notes: I was switching out to work at another site one week, but I needed one more bandana--seriously, my life in outdoor ed was one long lack of bandanas--so I 'borrowed' one from the site stash.  The kids I had that week were fun, and one of them had a bandana the same color as the one I'd borrowed.  I saw hers and got excited because it had keys on it (my nickname is pronounced as key), while she saw mine and got excited because it didn't have skulls--she'd only gotten it because she loved the color.

So we traded. This is the one that used to belong to that student.

Notes: I was bemoaning a lack of bandanas to my little sister, who said that she had two spare ones she could give me. This is one of those. The other one was green, and it's been missing for awhile now. Sad, really. I liked that shade of green.

Notes: I found this one while out on field group. It was soaking wet and abandoned in the woods. I brought it back on a stick (I wasn't gonna touch it, eww) and set it out to dry. I may or may not have put it in the lost and found, but when the kids left it was still there, so I adopted it--after throwing it in the wash.

Notes: This hat came with a matching pair of socks.  For those times you want your head and feet to be properly coordinated; like when you're about to put your foot in your mouth.

I have a small head, so most hats are too big for me, which is generally okay because I wear a hair clip, and then it fits under the hat.  This hat is the correct size for my head--but not if I'm wearing the clip, which I always am, so...conclusion; I don't wear this hat enough.

From: I made it in weaving class

Notes: This started life as a piece of black fabric, and then I made a vinyl stamp and stamped some bleach on it, making it into that awesome orange color.  The pattern's pretty neat, but you can't really see it in this image.  I also hemmed the edges so it doesn't fall apart.  It's a bit smaller than a traditional bandana, but my head is smaller than most, so it doesn't bother me.
